Bounties, raids and rare foes

Bounties

  • Each town has a bounty board with three kill bounties.
  • The board is new every real day, at midnight UTC.
  • Claim one and the next takes its place, so the board never runs dry.
  • Every fourth bounty in a slot is a big hunt: twice the kills, five times the pay and a rare item.
  • Other bounties pay an item one time in three.
  • A bounty asks for 4 to 12 kills of one foe.
  • Walk up to the board to take or claim a bounty.
  • Greenhollow bounties can name goblins, boarmen, bandits, kobolds, lizardfolk, bog lurkers, frost foes, yetis and ash ghouls. Fernbrake bounties add stalkers, wolfmen, cinder raiders and the Stalker Chief.

Raids

  • Every two to three hours, a warband marches on a town, led by a warchief.
  • The warchief is Gnash, Skarr, Mudtooth, Vexa or Brakk. He is 3 levels above his kind, with 4 times the health.
  • The warchief always drops one rare piece of gear.
  • A raid lasts up to 12 minutes. Stop it before it reaches the town.
  • An Ironcap goblin leads the raids on Greenhollow, with Sneerfangs, Grindlefangs and Boneclaws. A Thornwood Stalker leads the raids on Fernbrake, with more stalkers and goblins.
  • Fight off three raids to earn the title Defender of the Vale.

Rare foes

  • A rare foe turns up every 25 to 35 minutes, somewhere a hero is.
  • Its name is one of Grimtooth, Old Scar, Rotbelly, Ironjaw, Blackclaw, Redeye, Gutspike, Ashknuckle, Mossback, Longshanks, Saltgrin or Hollowgut.
  • It is the most common foe nearby, 3 levels higher with 6 times the health.
  • It always drops one rare piece of gear. Everyone who hits it gets full credit.
  • It stays for up to 30 minutes, then leaves.
  • Slay one for the title Rare Chaser, three for Rare Hunter.

Wild events

Each day, most wild lands get one event. Word on the road tells you in chat.

  • Peddler: Wenna Cole works the road with her cart.
  • Ambushed cargo: goblins and an Ironcap took a cart on the road. Kill them and loot the Spilled Cargo.
  • Champion: a named champion, like Gruk the Unburied, raises a banner with goblins around it. It is the land's elite, one level higher and tougher. It always drops the elite's own rare item and an Ironcap Sigil.
  • Lost traveler: someone calls for help off the road. Walk them back for a little pay.
  • Bonfire: goblins guard a pyre and a Plunder Heap.
